Phase One Vs Hasselblad Part 3

June 20th, 2017

Following on directly from a previous post from some time ago… Phase One Vs Hasselblad Part 2

100mp CMOS Fantasy Becomes Reality.

In January 2016 Phase One finally announced the IQ3-100, the medium format digital back with the 100 megapixel CMOS sensor, the one I had been waiting for.  I had heard that Hasselblad were only a short way off announcing their 100mp camera system, and I wanted to see that before making any decisions.  Meanwhile I researched the Phase One system a little more.

Iceland 2017 just 1 spot remains

May 30th, 2017

I have just one spot remaining for my 12 day Ultimate Iceland Highlands Photo Tour for 2017.  If you have been sitting on the fence thinking about coming along, sit no longer, there is only one place left.  The tour begins and ends in Reykjavik Iceland, and is fully comprehensive with no hidden extras.  Dates for Iceland are August 26th – September 7th 2017, which follows on directly from my  8 dayGreenland Sailing adventure.  Click the link above to see all the details.

Greenland Sailing Photo Adventure.

I still have a couple of places on my 8 day Greenland Sailing Photo Adventure, and the best thing is that you can do both the Iceland Tour and the Greenland tour together.  You even get a discount for going on both.  My Greenland sailing  tour also leaves from Reykjavik in Iceland, where we have a charter flight to East Greenland to board our ship, the beautiful Donna Wood, a lovingly restored 100 year old Schooner.  We spend 8 days sailing around in the incredible Scoresby Sound, the biggest Fjord system in the world, seeing and photographing some of the most spectacular landscape on Earth before flying back to Reykjavik in Iceland again just in time to begin the 12 Ultimate Iceland Highlands tour.  Scoresby Sound in East Greenland is very calm, so seasickness is not an issue.  We fly to Greenland, so there are no open ocean crossing to be made by boat and we maximise our time in Scoresby Sound.  Click the link above to see all the details.

Phase One Vs Hasselblad Part 2

May 25th, 2017

Following straight on from a previous post… Phase One Vs Hasselblad Part 1…  A few years back now I bought the Hasselblad H4D-60 and used it extensively and loved it.  It had its limitations, such as the 1/800sec shutter speed and the primitive UI, but the image files were worth it and the camera itself behaved flawlessly.  So why did I make the change to the new Phase One?

Bhutan Photo Tour 2018 Dates

May 24th, 2017
Bhutan Photo tour with Adam monk

Dates are out for my Bhutan Photo Tour for 2018.  I’m still building the web page with all the details and the full itinerary, but all the planning is done the itinerary is written and the hotels are reserved.

15 days in Bhutan.

This tour will follow my tried and tested plan of 15 days in Bhutan, a small group travelling in cars (not a bus) with only two participants, a local driver and a guide per car.

2 Cultural Festivals.

I base the itinerary of the tour around the local cultural festivals, which are a major highlight of the tours.  This year the timing is finally right for me to include two festivals I have been wanting to attend for years, but I’ll tell you more about that later.

Dates for my next Bhutan Photo Tour are…  4 – 19 November 2018.

Full details and itinerary will be out soon, if you would like to be kept up to date you can email me tours@adammonk.com or you can just keep an eye on the blog.
