Bhutan Photo Tour 2018 Dates

Dates are out for my Bhutan Photo Tour for 2018. I’m still building the web page with all the details and the full itinerary, but all the planning is done the itinerary is written and the hotels are reserved.
15 days in Bhutan.
This tour will follow my tried and tested plan of 15 days in Bhutan, a small group travelling in cars (not a bus) with only two participants, a local driver and a guide per car.
2 Cultural Festivals.
I base the itinerary of the tour around the local cultural festivals, which are a major highlight of the tours. This year the timing is finally right for me to include two festivals I have been wanting to attend for years, but I’ll tell you more about that later.
Dates for my next Bhutan Photo Tour are… 4 – 19 November 2018.
Full details and itinerary will be out soon, if you would like to be kept up to date you can email me tours@adammonk.com or you can just keep an eye on the blog.
Iceland Photo Tour 2017 Another Chance
Another image from the Southern Highlands of Iceland with a tiny person in the landscape. This one is very tiny, but wearing a bright red jacket, once you notice it the sheer scale of the landscape snaps into perspective. This image translates better into a substantial sized print where the person is a little more visible, but thats a little hard to show on the internet.

Iceland Highlands Adventure update.
My Iceland Photo tour 2017 was officially fully booked, and that’s what I was writing in this blog post. As of last night though, I have 3 places that have become available due to cancellations. So if you were considering coming with me to Iceland this year you were almost too late, but now you have another chance. You can read all about the Iceland Highlands Adventure for this year right HERE>>
Greenland Sailing Photo Tour.
I still have a 4 places left for my Greenland Sailing Photo Adventure Tour. 8 days of awesome iceberg scenery sailing around Scoresby Sound on our 100 year old classic Schooner. Fully refurbished with all the modern conveniences of course.
Happy Fremantle Easter, We are open all weekend!
Happy Easter Long Weekend for 2017. Down here in Fremantle it’s the weekend of the Fremantle Street Arts Festival, which has grown into one of the biggest festivals we have here and definitely my favourite. This year is extra special because the festival pitches are spreading out right down High Street past the gallery. From Saturday 15 April until Monday 17th April High Street will be closed to cars and the whole of High street down to Mouat Street will full of performers performing and watchers saying “Wow!” There will be loads of happy people wandering around enjoying the sights and having fun, it’s probably the best weekend of the year to visit Fremantle, especially with the magic weather we are having, so come on down and join in.
The Gallery is Open all weekend.
The High Street Gallery will be open the whole weekend (Saturday-Monday) from 10am to 5pm with a great new selection of new images, including this one below…

Phase One Vs Hasselblad Part 1
I have spent years carrying around and shooting with a Hasselblad H4D-60 with a selection of beautiful Hasselblad (Fujinon) lenses, and the results have been outstanding. The image files are razor sharp, have wonderful smooth tonal transitions and are an absolute dream to work on. So why have I gone over to the dark side, traded the faithful Hasselblad for the Phase One black box?

Iceland Highlands with 100 Mp
Last Year in August I spent 14 days travelling around the Southern Highlands of Iceland with my Phase One 100 Megapixel camera, the (relatively) newly released Phase One XF and the IQ3-100 back. Along with a range of Phase One, Schneider Kreuznach and Mamiya lenses it’s a very heavy camera bag! So is it worth carrying all that gear? Are the results really that good? Well, yes.
