After many years running my Karijini Photo Tour as a private tour I have finally gone ahead and put it out for general release. Just like my private Karijini photo tours previously, I have kept it to just 4 participants, and I don’t do any shooting, just mentoring.
My Tasmania photo tour for 2023 with Paul Hoelen is now out and booking. I’m a bit slow with the blog entries, out of the habit I guess, so it’s actually been available for a couple of weeks and it’s almost full. As I type this there are just 2 spots remaining.
My Karijini Photo Tour for April 2023 is out and ready to book, actually its already half full. Since this tour is for an exclusive group of just 4 participants it means there are only 2 spots left.

The Image above is Dales cascades, one of the locations we shoot on tour. This image was shot on my pre tour reccie (before a private tour) 2 years ago, with the Phase One IQ3-100 digital back on the Cambo WRC400.
COVID is still around, but it does look like it’s reaching a state of “normality” where we are finally accepting that we must find a way to live with it… Which in Australia has definitely NOT been the policy so far. So far we have been more “keep it out at all costs”, Which means we have missed out on all the gruelling measures and the death toll that most of the world has been enduring.

One of my favourite cultural events on our Autumn tours to Japan is our photo shoot with some of the Maiko and Geiko of Kyoto. Known to most westerners as Geisha. This is not a word they ever use in Kyoto. In Kyoto they are Geiko – literally “Woman of Art”, and Maiko, the apprentice Geiko – Literally “Girl of Dance”.

We price all of our international tours in the currency that our suppliers invoice us in. So Japanese Yen (JPY) for our Japan photo tours, Euro (€) for our European photo tours and US dollars (US$) for many countries that use the US$ for business, such as the Bhutan photo tour and Cambodia photo tour. Tours within Australia, such as our Tasmania Photo tour, The Karijini photo tour (in the amazing Pilbara Region of West Australia) or the Kimberley photo tour (returning soon) we price in Australian dollars (AU$) for the same reason.

Some of the more diverse range of photography we do in Japan during our Autumn Colours of Japan Photo Tour. Though not actually Autumn colours, the life on the streets is a big part of visiting Japan, so not including this would be like walking around with one eye closed all the time.
I have put the finishing touches on our latest Autumn Colours of Japan Photo tour for 2020. We have capitalised on the experiences of the last few years, refining our itinerary and improving the plan to produce the most comprehensive tour possible.
We don’t just cover one field or style of photography, we immerse you in many diverse opportunities to express yourself.
Tasmania is an incredible place. If you are a landscape photographer it is truly paradise. This year in March I ran my second photo tour to the North West region of Tasmania with Paul Hoelen, and a small group of just 8 mad keen photographers (8 is the maximum for this tour). For 12 full days we braved the elements and drank the wine of Tasmania… Actually I think we mainly drank Guinness, which just sort of fits really.

All images are unstretched and unframed. In the rare event that any damage should occur in transit, you should advise us here at Monk Art Photography immediately and we will have a replacement shipped to you as soon as the damaged item is returned.
Delivery of your order is within 4-6 weeks from the date of purchase.
Cancellations of orders cannot be accepted once your images have been printed and shipped.
When placing an order please ensure your shipping address is correct. Orders returned due to an incorrect address will incur an additional re-shipping charge.
All orders are fully insured door to door.
We do not normally accept returns or offer refunds, but should you have any concerns please contact us and we will do our utmost to resolve them.
