AIPP Australian Professional Photography Awards
I rarely enter competitions, mostly due to lack of time, but they are a great way of getting professional feedback on the quality of work and hopefully gaining a bit of insight and inspiration along the way. One of the most relevant competitions I regularly enter is the annual AIPP Australian Professional Photography Awards (APPAs). I’ve even managed to win a few awards.
On this page I will keep a running list of any further awards that I do achieve, from the most recent at the top to the oldest.

What is the AIPP?
The Australian Institute of Professional Photographers is the professional body of Australian Photographers, it was founded in 1963. The AIPP is a not-for-profit organisation run voluntarily for and by professional photographers and industry representatives who seek to set a standard of excellence within the photographic industry. I have been a member of the AIPP since 2002, and an associate member since 2005.
Update July 2017.
After 15 years of continuous membership I have officially resigned from the AIPP, effective immediately. Due to recent decisions of the AIPP management, and changes made over the last couple of years to the AIPP structure, as well as the changing nature of the photography industry I no longer believe the AIPP has any relevance. A professional representative body should be limited to and represent professionals, that is people who actually earn their living within that industry. From my understanding and observations this is no longer the case with the AIPP.
