Landscape Photography – The Real Australia

Updated December 28th, 2014

Western Australia is the least populated state in  Australia, with most people living in the capital, Perth; so it’s a place where you can find yourself alone – alone in places that remain untouched by human presence, as they would have been a thousand years before. Often, as I wander in the wilderness, I feel I am standing in a spot where no one has stood before.  Then I know I am seeing the ‘real Australia’.

The Real Australia has Sold Out

I’m am working on another Western Australian landscape book right now, hopefully it will be printed and ready later in 2015.  Keep an eye on the website for details.

In the modern world today things move so fast that sometimes it’s hard to stop long enough to
appreciate what life has to offer. The Real Australia will transport you to another place, a place
of vast painted skies and imense horizons, where you can step out of the daily to-ing and fro-ing
of the daily grind to breath and appreciate the bigger picture of a world not made by man but
by nature in all its wildness and diversity.

There are no buildings in The Real Australia, no freeways or street signs,
just vast Naked Landscapes that appear as they have for millions of
years untouched by the world of man and machine.

The Oldest Continent

Australia is one of the world’s oldest continents, with some of the oldest
rocks on our planet. Many of these rocks remain today as they have lain
for the last four billion years, largely undisturbed by glacier movements,

geothermal activities or other earthly grumblings
that move rocks around, grind them into dust or
otherwise alter the landscape. The rocks of Australia
have had four billion years of erosion by wind, rain,
sun and sea that has truly unclothed the landscape, exposing the bones of
the earth – the ancient earth – in its truly naked form. Many parts of Western
Australia reveal this nakedness in all its beauty, in all its harshness and in all
its softness.

“I believe the real art of my landscape photography is in capturing those
elements and distilling them into a single image that conveys the feeling of
actually being there.

My hope is that these images will give you a sense of my passion and love
for these naked landscapes, so that my experience can be shared”.

The Real Australia

The real Australia is a 100 page soft cover book of full colour stunning
panorama images of the beauty of Western Australia, many of them as
yet unreleased. It makes a great gift, either for your friends or family, or
just for yourself, to remember that amazing trip through Australia’s beautiful
landscapes or as an inspiration to go.

The Real Australia is also that ideal corporate gift you may have been looking
for. Perfect for those visiting overseas clients to show the amazing diversity
of the Australian landscape.
