Landscape Photographer Fremantle Western Australia
Adam Monk, Landscape Photographer Fremantle Western Australia
Hi, my name is Adam Monk, I am a Landscape Photographer based in Fremantle Western Australia and my website will show you a little of how I see the world, the natural world as Nature created it. I have been camping and hiking since I was young, I have always loved the wild untouched places, the peace and quiet of the bush both here in Australia and in my travels overseas to other countries.
Landscape Photography was a natural next step, to be able to bring some of these raw Naked Landscapes back home, to show them to others and hopefully inspire a little of the same things I feel when I’m out there. I have been taking photographs of one sort another since I was about 12 years old, and always loved playing with cameras. After returning from a huge 12 month trip through the US and Central America in 1994 (with a Canon F1 camera), I had a major direction change and decided to make my hobby my profession.
Makeshift Darkrooms
I would spend long hours in makeshift darkrooms created in the bathroom, darkrooms that were only dark at night The first rays of dawn creeping through the black plastic over the window would herald the end of the nights session and I would emerge bleary eyed and smelling of chemicals, clutching the latest prized Black & White images.
Well, I have swapped my darkroom for a Mac Pro computer and an Epson 9900 printer, but the obsession is still there…if anything it has grown with me and the wild untamed places still hold the same fascination.
Perhaps I will see you out there?
Adam Monk
